{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}
~Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life, as inspired by the women at Like Mother, Like Daughter~
{Pretty}
This may be more “neat” or “cool” than “pretty,” but I like how this photo turned out. We had more fun with bubbles this week, as expected; there’s every indication that this will be our best investment of the summer. (Bonus: the pacifier is truly a thing of the past. She doesn’t even ask for it any more. Hurrah!)
{Happy}
Abby’s old enough now to qualify as a playmate. She and Katie have had great fun together in the past week: playing with blocks, riding in their boat, playing peekaboo, shaking rattles. Most evenings, I can leave them in the living room as I work on dinner, and the sound of their laughter always brings a smile to my face.
(Not pictured: bath time. Katie discovered this week that bath time with a sister who can sit on her own is a blast. I have shots of them splashing and playing, pure joy on both their faces, but for the sake of my future relationships with them, I’m not going to post them here. You’ll just have to take my word for it. They’re adorable.)
{Funny}
Unfortunately, to Abby’s great sorrow, there are some things Katie does that she doesn’t get to do yet. Like lick the beater when I make cookies. Poor kid kept looking from her sister to me and back again, as if to say, “Hey, Mom, where’s mine?”
{Real}
We had some good cousin time this past week – a playdate at the park and a trip to the zoo. (The trip to the zoo was a special treat for Katie – BOTH Grandmas were there!) While the kids did enjoy the animals, the biggest attractions were, hands-down, the penny well and the lift-the-flap and spin-the-wheel displays. That’s three for you.
Those are the {pretty, happy, funny, real} moments around here this week. How about you? Share in the comments!
